This isn't a wildlife park in the zoo sense.
Although visitors may drive through the preserve feeding the animals,
Fossil Rim's raison d'etre is bringing species back from
extinction.
It also isn't a petting zoo (although one is found at the midpoint
of the drive); these are wild animals, so visitors
stay in their cars! Even thus confined, one revels in
exquisite communion with everything from antelope to zebra.
