Homework Homework will be assigned and its solutions will be posted eventually for your benefit. It will be available as a multiple choice web form to be filled out for a grade. Students are encouraged to consult with the instructor or TAs concerning problematic questions.

This course is designed for students with a solid foundation in the principles of general chemistry. Students will be exposed to modern chemical topics that ordinarily aren't covered until much later in the undergraduate curriculum. Specific topics that will be covered in this course include, atomic and molecular theory, structure and bonding, chemical applications of symmetry and group theory, transition metal chemistry, organic and biochemistry, and the application of chemical principles to environmental issues. A course outline for the Fall 2000 semester is given below.
