DoD Announces $400 Million Investment In Basic Research

The Department of Defense announced plans to invest an additional $400 million over the next five years to support basic research at academic institutions. Projects will be based on numerous academic disciplines, including: physics, ocean science, chemistry, electrical engineering, materials science, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, information sciences, civil engineering, mathematics, chemical engineering, geosciences, atmospheric science, and aeronautical engineering. Invention Holds Promise for Diabetics, Transplant Patients

Scientists at UT Dallas have filed a patent disclosure on a medical device that looks like a blue elastic bandage and acts like a wonder-cloth that helps preserve transplant organs, improve circulation and heal wounds. Read more
